The book ends with an anthology of stories about the involvement of executive and legislative agencies in drug trade and distribution and became very annoying. An entertaining still annoying mixture of historical narrative, conspiracy stories and anecdotes. I did in fact "really" like it, but a "brief" history will always be sort of problematic. Still, very interesting! An excellent overview of the history of drugs and cultures! The author did a magnificent job of writing and editing down this version of his larger work written in Spanish only! It makes me want to also read his larger book on this subject!
