AGONAsport takes a look at the talented new generation of Greek track and field stars, who have already won a plethora of medals in major international competitions at various levels and age groups. The year-old long jumper from Grevena has already made his mark on the senior level, winning gold at both the European Championships and the European Indoor Championships.
Tentoglou holds the Greek national records at the U23, U20, and U18 levels, as well as the indoor national record at the senior level. Additionally, Tentoglou was a gold medalist for Greece at the European Team Championships, and a silver medalist at the World U20 Championships. Having already made his Olympic debut in at the age of 18, Tentoglou will likely contend for a medal at the Olympics in Tokyo.
Although he no longer holds that record, he happens to be the Greek national record holder at the U23, U20, and U18 levels. The Cretan youngster is rapidly improving, and was crowned Greek national champion at the senior level in Dimitrios Tsitsos of Giannitsa, also a javelin thrower, missed almost the entire season due to injury.
